In the last year the growth in quality of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Calabria has had a big success. Thanks to the characteristic climate of Calabria with its hills and mountains surrounded by the sea, but also thanks to a better attention in all its process that goes from the production of the olives, to the harvest and the crush. The main varieties of olives used for the production of the extra virgin olive oil in Calabria are: Carolea (the most widespread), Tondina, Leccino, Frantoio and Coratina.
