Extra Virgin Olive Oil Campania

Were the Greeks that introduced the plantation of the olive-trees and of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Campania. The varieties of olives that are cultivated are characterized by local varieties (such as Pisciottana, Rotondella, Ogliastro, Corniola, Palombina, Trignarola, ...) and other varieties imported from Umbria and Toscany (the famous Leccino, Frantoio) and Puglia (Coratina). As a dimonstration of the excellence of the extra virgin olive oil from Campania there are 5 PDO certified: PDO Cilento, PDO Salernitane hills, PDO Sorrento peninsula, PDO Aurunche Lands.
