At about 650m of altitude in the inland of the province of Syracuse, in an area where the cultivation of olives has a centuries-old roots, in manufactured the Extra Virgin Olive Oil of Agrestis. The company was founded in 2003 by Giuseppe Lorenzo and their two children, Pietro and Salvatore in order to produce extra virgin olive oil, one of the main typical products of the Iblean mountains. To achieve this, they started with the recovery of the olive trees in the area that were abandoned by the elderly owners. They decided to buy more than 8 hectares of olive groves, then by converting a part in organic farming, and to manage the hire of other olive groves. What drives the project is the research of high quality for a valuable food which is one of the best examples of the Sicilian tradition. The results achieved with prizes awarded to the company both nationally and globally, shows that the goal of high quality for the Extra Virgin Olive Oil Agrestis has been fully achieved.
