Tenute Librandi

Tenute Librandi

The Tenute Librandi farm started at the end of the 19th century, on the pre-silane Joniche hills, in the province of Cosenza, in the north-east of the Calabria region. Starting from the few but century-old olive groves of the family, the Librandi company has been built over the years, buying new plots and planting over 50 hectares of new olive groves, even with cultivars never before seen in this geographical area.
In 1997 the entire 200 hectare farm area is converted into organic farming: a real revolution with important changes to the company management: stop to synthetic fertilizers, stop to chemical insecticides able to finish inside the fruit, yes to organic fertilizers, yes to biological and natural control methods, reduction of soil processing and their depth, to favor the spontaneous growth of herbaceous plants like clover and licorice, which finds in our area a habitat naturally conducive to its growth .
The excellent quality of the organic extra virgin olive oil produced, has led the company Librandi to be known worldwide and to represent an Italian excellence.
