Dessert Wines and Passito Wines

Dessert wines are perfect wines to accompany the end of a meal.

They go well with desserts made with shortcrust pastry (biscuits, pies), with fresh and dried fruit desserts, with cream and chocolate-based desserts. They can also be combined with semifreddo and fruit salads, and they also go perfectly with traditional Christmas and Easter sweets.

Some of these, such as passito wines , are also excellent accompaniments for mature and savory cheeses. Others, such as flavored wines , are also excellent served with ice and seltzer as an aperitif. They can also be tasted alone for a pleasant moment of relaxation.

Passito wines are generally characterized by a sweet taste that derives from the production method: the grapes are dried in order to eliminate the water and in this way sugars and aromatic substances remain more concentrated inside the grape.
